Our Team

Matt Iverson-Comelo
Managing Member

As the Managing Member of Cy Pres Settlement Funds LLC, Mr. Iverson-Comelo leads the effort to benefit injured classes through collaborative cy pres grant-making services.

He draws on over 13 years of experience and a partnership with the late cy pres Fund Administrator Harry M. Snyder. Starting in 2003, they worked together to successfully distribute over $60 million across nine cy pres settlement funds.

At Cy Pres Settlement Funds LLC, Mr. Iverson-Comelo’s responsibilities extend to managing operations, implementing their 10-step grant-making process, and working with subject matter experts to ensure that grants are impactful and aligned with each settlement fund's goals.

Previous experience includes serving as the Executive Director of Advisers Give Back, a pioneering, financial technology nonprofit organization making pro bono financial planning more accessible and impactful for underserved Americans.

Mr. Iverson-Comelo earned a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, with honors, at University of California, Berkeley.

Tanecia Echols, J.D.
Grants Administrator

Ms. Echols has extensive experience in cy pres grant-making, having worked closely with Harry M. Snyder from approximately 2007 to 2011. She collaborated with Mr. Snyder to author two important publications on cy pres grant-making best practices: “Protecting Class Action Settlements” and “Establishing Best Practices in the Distribution of Cy Pres Funds.” Like Ms. True and Mr. Iverson-Comelo, Ms. Echols was well-trained by Mr. Snyder in the effective utilization of cy pres funds.

In addition to her cy pres work, Ms. Echols has served as a Sponsored Projects Officer at the University of Utah, focusing on federal contracts.

Ms. Echols earned a BS in Education from Tennessee State University and a J.D. from Golden Gate Law School.

Lovely Dhillon, J.D.
Grants Consultant

Ms. Dhillon brings her diverse expertise in law, social change, and philanthropy to contribute significantly to the cy pres grant-making process. Her notable achievements include leading the Law School Consortium Project, where she enhanced legal service accessibility, and serving as the Deputy Director for Strategy, Management, and Evaluation at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she managed a $90 million grant portfolio. Currently, as CEO of Jodevi Consulting, she provides strategic advice to foundations and nonprofits, focusing on impactful philanthropy and organizational development.

In her role with Cy Pres Settlement Funds LLC, Ms. Dhillon supports various stages of the grant-making process, ensuring the incorporation of best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). She is instrumental in developing comprehensive anti-harassment, anti-discrimination, and anti-retaliation programs, reinforcing the organization's commitment to creating a safe and equitable environment.

Ms. Dhillon holds a BA in International Affairs and Political Science from Florida State University and a J.D. from Yale Law School.

Anthony Iton, M.D., J.D., MPH
Philanthropic Advisor

Since 2009, Dr. Iton has served as the Senior Vice President of Programs & Partnerships at The California Endowment, where he leads the development and execution of strategic plans aimed at achieving racial equity in health across California.

In addition to his leadership role, Dr. Iton contributes his expertise as a Lecturer in Health Policy & Management at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health, notably co-teaching Health Policy Advocacy alongside Harry M. Snyder. Together, Dr. Iton and Mr. Snyder co-authored “Advocacy for Public Health Policy Change: An Urgent Imperative,” published by the American Public Health Association.

Dr. Iton also plays a vital role in public health advocacy and policy development as a member of the board of directors for the Public Health Institute, the Public Health Trust, the Prevention Institute, and Jobs For The Future.

Dr. Iton's prior positions include serving as the Director and County Health Officer for the Alameda County Public Health Department, where he pioneered public health practices to eliminate health disparities. His background also encompasses work as an HIV disability rights attorney, a healthcare policy analyst, and a physician advocate for the homeless, demonstrating his dedication to addressing the root causes of poor health in underserved communities.

Dr. Iton's distinguished career is recognized by numerous awards, such as the Champion of Children Award from the United Way and the Award of Excellence from the National Association of City and County Health Officials, honoring his innovative use of information technology in public health.

Dr. Iton earned a BS in Neurophysiology, with honors, from McGill University, a J.D. at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, and a M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
